It would be a mistake to overlook the importance of a healthy meal plan to reinforce all of that hard work you’re putting into your body with your regular workouts. Just as different people want different results with their workouts, one meal plan will not suit everyone’s needs.
Start by clarifying your objective with your workout – are you trying to lose weight, gain muscle, prepare for an upcoming competition or even just working on improving your health? All of these objectives will require different meal plans, which should be carefully monitored.
It’s important to research different meal plans and make sure that you find one that works for your purposes as well as your tastebuds. A successful meal plan should be a change in the way you approach and interact with your food for the rest of your life, not just a temporary “diet”.
A fully vegetarian diet wouldn’t work well for someone who loves to bite down on a steak and a diet that focuses on proteins in yoghurt, cheese and milk will have disastrous consequences for someone who is lactose intolerant. That being said, it’s always a good idea to give new recipes a try and see what surprises you (and your tastebuds!).
